My sincere condolences to my friend Margaret , my God-daughter Alicia and the entire family of the late Delbert. May he sleep in peace and rise in glory.

It is with a deep sense of lost that I pay tribute to the life of Delbert. He was quite a colourful character. As he approached you, you just had to smile before you said a word since he would already be smiling to the extent that you couldn’t resist. He would then strike up a conversation which inevitable would have its share of jokes. During the 80s, he paid a couple of visits to Canada, Ontario specifically to work on the farm program. While there he would come to Montreal to visit us bringing along a bag of the sweetest apples I ever tasted. He would tell stories of how he and his colleagues were dealing with the Canadian cold. He never greeted me by my name but rather by, “Pataudi” one of my many aliases. He was quite down to earth and easily made many friends. He was a simple guy who took life one day at a time. He was slow to anger but when he did, it was like a volcano erupting. However, such events were rare. He has now left us to join his parents and four siblings. I can just imagine what life will be like on the other side now that he is there with them. It should be quite a lot of fun. May he rest in peace and rise in glory.
