Son of Eustace Layne and the late Myrtle “Vera” Yarde. Companion of Euline Franklyn. Father of Merlan Yarde Jr., Roger and Stephen Franklyn and Andrea Franklyn-Munroe. Grandfather of Danisa and Portia Yarde, Cherise, Swayne, Tory and Destiny Small, Ashen Sealy-Franklyn, Jalisa Sobers-Franklyn, Rohzara Franklyn and Jarhema Munroe. Brother of Peter, Barbara and Sylvan Yarde (all deceased), Lemuel Chase, David Bynoe, Sharon Haynes and Elicia Fuller and many more.
Nephew of Cynthia Layne, Lucina Lashley and Rita Yarde. Uncle of Tracy and Ramase Reid, Andrea and Jeffrey King, Rhondo Bynoe and Many more. Relative of Layne, Yarde, Pile and Callender families. Father-in-law of Sheldene Yarde, James Munroe and Genevieve Sobers. Friend of Cameron Sinckler, Washington Harvey, Michael Allsopp, Reginald Harbin, Kelston Barker, David Rogers, Mark Hercules, Ann Roach and Family of late Christopher Codrington and many more.
A Service of thanksgiving celebrating the life of Merlan Yarde will take place at Christ Church Parish Church on Thursday April 5, 2018 at 2:30 PM followed by the interment in Christ Church Cemetery. Viewing of the body takes place at St. George’s Home for Funerals, Carmichael House, Carmichael, St. George on Wednesday April 4, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Flowers may be delivered to St. George’s Home for Funerals no later than 12:30 PM the day of the funeral. The Organist and Members of the Choir are kindly asked to attend.
