Please share your cherished memories of Shirla, including their favourite food, colour, or any special moments. If you’d like, feel free to post a heartfelt condolence message.
  • Sorry I would not be able to attend this funeral, but with a heavy heart I send condolences to the Newton and Medford families. I went to Alleyne with Shirla we were in classes together, Betty made my wedding dresses and I am sorry I did not get a chance to be with Shirla before this moment. I love you Shirla, will always love you, your smile was infectious and your heart was kind. To the Newton family that opened their doors to me on many occasions, I send lots of love.

  • Just want to give my condolences on behalf of the entire Rowe Family — Josh, Henderson, and Lena. This has been a very difficult loss for me to process; Aunty Shirla had known me since I was 4 years old. Going to school at St. Cyprian’s with Jovan, Aunty was like a mother figure to me — someone who looked out for me and treated me as family.

The last time I saw her, she told my dad, “Look how big Josh is getting — I remember when he was running around the schoolyard with Jovan.” There are certain people in my life who, no matter how old I get, I will always remember for the care and love they showed me in every interaction. Aunty was one of that select few.

I will remember most her smile, her pure light, and her beautiful energy. I am so grateful to have had her in my life and to be able to call someone as amazing as her my Aunty. Our hearts and prayers go out to the Medford family — especially Uncle Dalton and Jovan. You will forever be family to us, and please do not hesitate to reach out for anything you may need.

May Aunty Shirla rest in peace, and thank you, God, for giving us the opportunity to have her in our lives. ❤️💐

    – Josh
(I will keep on smiling for you, Aunty. Love you ❤️😞)

  • Our deepest sympathy to the whole family for the passing of dear Shirla. May she rest in peace and rise in glory.

  • This was such a shock for me. I will always remember your smile. RIP cuz and rise in glory. Always in our hearts 💕 💞

  • I am at a complete loss for words. We met at SJPP and remained friends over the years. Always a positive and joyous person, a bright light. To her family, my sincere condolences. May she rest in peace and rise in glory 🙏🏿

  • So saddened to hear of the loss of Shirla.
Extending my deepest sympathy to Dalton and Jovan.
    May she rest peacefully

  • To shirla on behalf of Neville Ellis … You were always my friend..a kind word..a hearty laugh and a smile that always made you feel welcome. R.I.P. NEVER will forget you.

  • I am extremely sadden that a kind, loving and generous heart has stopped beating. She has left a powerful legacy of love and sharing that I pray will grow in all who she has touched. Sleep in peace.
