Remembering Tanya Aisha Hinds

My condolences to Cosmo my former work colleague and his wife on the passing of their daughter Tanya. I also want to extend condolences to all her family, friends and the legal fraternity. May she rest in peace.

I can’t begin to imagine what you, who loved and cherished Tanya, are suffering right now. Shocked to hear of this wonderful lady’s sudden passing. I will never get to meet her, to thank her for all she did for me. To all her family and friends, I send you all my sincerest condolences at this time. Tanya sure was a special angel to me with her attention to detail, she was thorough and informative. A gentle soul that left no stone unturned. How lucky we all are to have been touched by her presence. Thank you for this opportunity to share my message and God bless dear Tanya 🙏

We first connected during the Master of Laws program, in the International Alternative Dispute Resolution course. Though we never met in person, a true friendship blossomed.

Tanya shared her love of music and her one-time session to learn golf with Dawn, Frances and myself. We laughed together, commiserated over course feedback and supported each other through our LL.M. journey.

Tanya was a beautiful soul—intelligent, kind and unwavering in her beliefs. She carried herself with grace and authenticity.

I will miss her deeply.

Tanya we met for a short period over our mutual study interest but your impact on my life will last a lifetime…

Tanya became a dear friend, an inspiration to me and played a large part in our mutual learning and endeavors in striving for knowledge. She defines the concept of honesty, integrity, helping while expecting nothing in return, hard work, dedication and supporting others in a heartbeat. Though younger than me, I looked up to her and my heart aches. We were about to engage in celebrating a a wonderful success later this year on our first trip to England. She could have celebrated earlier but preferred to put hers on hold and wait to celebrate with the rest of our group. My heart aches as she had so much life and love and fun in her. An academic, pianist, golfer – seemed like there was nothing this angel could not do and always made time to help or guide anyone that reached out to her.
To her mum – you all raised a gem in every way- always a lady, always respectful, a diligent worker, the best study partner and a dear dear friend. She spoke of you so highly and the inspiration you were to her on the last academic journey. To Tanya – my sweet dear friend, supporter and sister from another mother, my heart is completely broken and I will not recover from this. I hate that you are gone but I pray that you find eternal rest in the arms of our Lord and I will miss you every day.
